The Hamptons Style… What a beautiful style and source of inspiration for your home!

It is luxurious, coastal and elegant, whilst still remaining modest. It feels like you are in a resort in your home, whilst still being able to be human and accommodating for all the mess the family makes!

Let’s explore the top 6 tips to making your home have that luxurious Hampton’s touch, so you too can enjoy some coastal elegance on your own home.

Hamptons Style Tip 1: Interior Design Tips

To create a luxurious coastal vibe throughout your home, focus on limiting your colour palette to white, blue, timber and neutral tones.  Stripes and two tone florals will complement natural tones and provide you with the opportunity for creativity with your interior design.

Look for timeless pieces, classic pieces of furniture, rather than what is on trend.  Wicker furniture and woven baskets will help complete the look, and can be softened with a throw.

Incorporate nature with luscious gardens, and stunning pot plants featuring throughout the home.  Natural light is your friend, and rooms that combine inside and outside.

Hamptons Style Tip 2: The House Plans

Hamptons is known for its modest luxury, and with luxury comes space. When designing your layout, be strategic with your design, and ensure you have spacious large open living spaces.

Hamptons Style Tip 3: The Kitchen

A typical Hamptons style kitchen should be open plan, with generous access.  Ideally you should plan this space next to living and dining rooms to bring a space together, and stick to a calming coastal colour palette that will be neutral throughout the home.

Traditional Hamptons kitchens have white cabinetry that feature hooden pulls and knobs in chrome or stainless steel.  Look for tapware that is more of a traditional style.

Shaker profiles and Barn Doors are also a very nice touch to getting a Hamptons feel.

Hamptons Style Tip 4: The Living Room

For the living room, keep it spacious but modest. Let the feel of the room bring you a sense of calmness and serenity.  Look for cosy accessories as well as cushions and throws to add comfort and texture to the space.

Fresh flowers will add that touch of elegance and will always add a sense of serenity to any room.

Hamptons Style Tip 5: The Bedroom

For the bedroom, a coastal colour palette with soft, relaxed features is always the way to go.  Look for gorgeously printed linen with blue accents for a touch of coastal ambiance.

Rustic timber furniture and oak style flooring will be a match made in heaven (or the Hamptons I should say!) when complemented with soft linens and throws.

Try dressing your bedroom with these few products to indulge in a little Hamptons luxury in your sacred space.

Hamptons Style Tip 6: The Laundry

For the Laundry. Keep it simple, restricted colours and tied back.
No fancy feature colours, but definitely feel free to explore with the cupboard profiles with a sophisticated touch of Shaker Profile and Barn Doors.  Rattan will complement your Hamptons style and will make an ideal laundry hamper.

There are so many amazing Hampton style transformations that I have spotted recently.  One of my favourites are the amazing designers at Three Birds Renovation.
