Sharing is caring!

Window trends are changing all the time?   Do you have sheets covering your windows?  Are you ducking and diving to hide from the neighbour’s after your shower?  Window furnishings can be the last thing from your mind when you are building a new home or renovating.  But when you don’t have them privacy becomes a major concern.

Leanne Webber Designs has given us the top tips for styling your windows.

Q1 – What in for Window trends 2018

Modern and sleek is still trending for window furnishings, so holland roller blinds are still at the forefront. They’re the perfect option as they can be a great budget friendly option but at the same time look stylish and fresh. There are even fabrics that are colour matched to some of Dulux’s most popular paint colours!  Check out these holland blinds below they have this amazing Moroccan print which totally changes the room

Q2. How to create more privacy but not lose the view?

So once again holland roller blinds are the perfect solution to create privacy and allow a clear view. When you want a clear view , you simply roll the blind all the way to the top and the blind practically disappears. There are other options Window Trendsavailable if privacy through the day is needed such as a Duo roller blind system. This allows you to have 2 roller blinds on each window so you can have a sunscreen blind that you can see out of a day but the outside can’t see in. Then you have the blockout roller that gives room darkening and full privacy day and night. Each are operated separately. This is also perfect for higher insulation needs.

Q3. Blackout rooms what are our options?

The best option for a blackout room is a holland roller in a blockout fabric. This type of fabric doesn’t allow any light through and because they’re is only gaps around the edges of the window, it stops most of the light coming in. Valances can be added also to stop light entering at the top of the window for even more blackout. If you want a Venetian or shutter try going a darker timber as the whites and light colours will reflect more light through each gap.

Q4. What to do with funny shaped windows?

There is plenty of options for unusual shaped windows, shutters and Venetians can be made to suit all sorts of arched, curved and angled windows. Curtain tracks can be curved to suit bay or bow windows also so the curtain can follow the window seamlessly.

Window blinds may be the last thing you do in your renovation or build but why not make a statement this year.  There are so many pattern’s, fabrics, and designs that the options are endless.    If you are finding it hard to make a decision then give Leanne from Online Blinds a call for professional interior design advice.
